I’M LAURA JOY (LJ)
somewhere along the way, success got too expensive.
I built the career. Sat at the table. Burned out. Rebuilt.
Not me. The structure.
Now I fix it — for the businesses it's costing and the women inside them it's quietly wearing down.

I’M A REAL RESILIENT WOMAN
Proud Mancunian. Mum of two. Divorced twice. Natural over-giver turned boundary holder. Someone who has failed, pivoted, moved countries, walked away from guaranteed salaries and rebuilt more times than is probably sensible.
Not every chapter has been clean. I don't pretend it was.
I've led at board level. I've held global people strategy across eight markets. I've been the most capable person in the room and the least formally recognised. I've been relied on without being backed. I know what that costs — personally and commercially.
I'm equal parts ex-HRD, straight-talking advisor and commercially grounded operator. I don't do fluff, politics or leadership theatre.
But underneath the CV? I'm a woman who's had to earn her seat at the table. More than once.
LET ME BE
UNMASKED
I didn't start out confident. I was the quiet kid who'd rather disappear than draw attention.
New schools. New roles. New countries. I've navigated executive boardrooms and the very real lows of burnout in a hospital bed. I've moved my family across continents, walked away from guaranteed roles and rebuilt myself more times than I can count.
Motherhood. Marriage. Divorce. Kuwait. Breakdowns. Breakthroughs. Every single one forced me to rethink the rules - and rebuild with sharper standards each time.
THE
GAMECHANGER
At some point I stopped trying to fit the structure and started asking why the structure existed in the first place.
That question changed everything.
RULES
REWRITE
THEM.
They told us to be grateful. Keep our heads down. Don't ask for too much. Earn the right to be recognised.
Here's what they didn't tell us: the structure was never designed to reflect what you actually deliver. It was designed to keep things manageable.
Those are not the same thing.
You're not wrong for wanting more. You're right that something doesn't add up.
The gap between what you deliver and what you're recognised for — that's not your fault. But it is your problem to fix.
A LITTLE MORE
BEYOND THE
CV.
01 BUBBLES & BRAIN FUEL
Always got a podcast on or an audiobook in my ears — and sometimes a glass of fizz in hand. Sharp thinking meets celebratory energy. I see no reason to choose between the two.
02 statement heels & opinions
I love a killer pair of shoes. My style is equal parts feminine and fierce and always slightly unexpected. Same goes for how I work.
03 MEMORY LOVER
40,000+ photos on my phone. Travels, toasts, sunsets, sweaty gym selfies - the moments. I capture all of it. Because success isn't a title — it's how you experience your life between the meetings.
YOU'RE HERE FOR A REASON
If you’ve found your way here
you’re
ready.
Maybe you're done tolerating a structure that was never set up to reflect what you actually deliver. Maybe you're running an organisation that's performing on paper and losing ground underneath.
Either way — you're in the right place.
